Here's a selection of my favourite work from my time at BBC World News in 2014/2016:
100 Women
100 Women is a season of special programming that tells the stories of inspiring women from all around the globe. For its third year, I was asked to lead the creation and delivery of a variety of design assets and promotional materials across TV, online and social platforms - including a concept-led TV trail to promote the season. As no media to edit from existed yet, I came up with an illustrative design style that represents women from all walks of life. The promo ran on BBC World News as well as BBC One, Two and Four in the UK. It was also reversioned the following year to promote its fourth season.
Women's Footballer of the Year
In 2015, the BBC has decided to celebrate this by introducing an award that recognises the world's best female players. I was asked to come up with a graphic route that has a sharp design sensibility - reminiscent of classic sports design posters - and that can be adapted to have less reliance on photography, which was helpful given rights and familiarity with players. I have illustrated each element of the campaign, including the finalists' portraits, and delivered TV promos, stings, display banners as well as social media assets.
BBC World News 25th Anniversary
On the 11th of March 2016, BBC World News became 25 years old. We created a buzz on air in the week leading up to the anniversary, with a birthday-themed look of the channel by adapting elements of the channel architecture - including a special 15-second ident that takes the audience through the history of the BBC World News brand, which was originally called BBC World Service Television.
Make the Connection
This 60-second TV promo is part of the BBC World News on-going marketing campaign known as 'Make the Connection'. We were asked to feature the entire ‘talent family’ as we hop around the business world, in order to promote the BBC's global journalist strength.
