Here's a selection of my favourite TV promos from my time at Scripps/Discovery.
Gold Rush
Gold Rush is Discovery Channel’s biggest franchise, spanning 10 seasons and generating 3 equally successful spin-offs. We were asked to link all Gold Rush titles together under one umbrella campaign with coherent messaging and look & feel, so we designed the campaign around “The Rush Never Stops”, a dynamic line that can be changed according to each show or character (i.e. “The Journey Never Stops”, "The Quest Never Stops", etc). This is also, in its simplest form, a way of telling our audience they can watch Gold Rush content all year round. The inspiration behind the design approach is a Gold Rush superhero universe where all shows belong to the same world.
Expedition Unknown
'Hunt for Extraterrestrials' is a new series of Expedition Unknown specials. This 30-second GFX promo pays homage to the alien conspiracy theory TV genre by framing the narrative around the alien investigation that started with the Roswell incident in 1947.
